Police arrest over 50 at NY music festival

The four-day festival at Hunter Mountain, near Woodstock, attracted about 25,000 people.


HUNTER, N.Y. - State police say more than 50 people were arrested over the weekend at the 10th annual Mountain Jam music festival.


Most were cited for possession or sale of a controlled substance, or marijuana possession. One was charged with obstructing governmental administration, another was cited for third-degree assault, and three others were arrested for resisting arrest.


All charges are misdemeanors.


Those arrested range in age from 18 to 56 and most are from the Northeast: 14 from upstate New York; nine from Connecticut; nine from the New York City area; five from Long Island; four each from Massachusetts, New Jersey and Pennsylvania; two each from Vermont and Virginia; and one each from Maine, New Hampshire and North Carolina.
