2016 is going to be a big one. I can feel it. To say thank you I have decided to give you all a FREE TUNE. This year has been great. Collectively my last 2 songs have racked up over 2 MILLION plays across the web, the Fire EP is already on over 10000 Spotify plays in less than a month, and I've worked with so many amazing people on so many different exciting projects. Couldn't have done this without all of your support. So thank you for that, and I can't wait to show you what is planned for the 2016! HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Last year we were asked to write a theme tune for the Bond movie Spectre. Yes we were. It didn’t work out, but became something of our own, which we love very much. As the year closes we thought you might like to hear it. Merry Christmas. May the force be with you.

Touch Sensitive, Charles Murdoch & Ayo Olatunji - Play The Clown (Red Bull 20 Before 16) by future classic

Future Classic have operated at the cutting edge of electronic music for more than ten years. But it’s only now that the Sydney-based collective are getting their well deserved recognition, with the worldwide success of artists including Flume, Chet Faker, Flight Facilities, Ta-ku and Jagwar Ma among others. Despite their diverse roster, the label managed to develop a convincing signature sound, effortlessly straddling the line between dreamy home listening and unapologetic dancefloor antics. This track, recorded at the Future Classic Writing Camp at the Red Bull Studios New York earlier this year, presents the label’s next generation of star producers, Touch Sensitive and Charles Murdoch, alongside singer Ayo Olatunji, whose vocals turn the off kilter beat ballad into a sublime pop gem for our times. The song is 17/20 of the Red Bull 20 Before 16 series – 20 days, 20 artists, 20 exclusive tracks to take you into 2016. For more tracks and free download head to 20before16.redbull.com

SUNDAY MORNING - 13 - Jennifer Cardini by Danny Daze

THE ARTIST: JENNIFER CARDINI http://ift.tt/1Lp6B0Q http://ift.tt/1Y6Pac1 After more than a decade spent building an enviable reputation for herself in the clubs of Paris, Jennifer Cardini has become an international concern. Her infectious charisma and versatility behind the decks has led to invitations to play at such famed nightspots as Panorama Bar, Nitsa, and Fabric, and with her creative platform and label Correspondant very much on the ascent, her standing as a tastemaker is as prominent as ever. THE MIX: I wanted the mix to be psychedelic and have people feel like they were leaving a dream. Slowly wake up and end their Sunday morning dancing in their kitchen while making breakfast. Thus why we got Grace Jones towards the end.

Modini - Saluting Magpies (HYPE049) [clip] by Hypercolour

2015 has been a massive year for Hypercolour, with the label releasing a huge range of music from established names (Kerrier District & Luke Vibert, Seth Troxler, Roman Flugel) as well as up-and-comers of the underground music scene (Luca Lozano, A Sagittariun, House Of Black Lanterns). The eclecticism of the laberl knows no boundries, and so it’s fitting to end the year with a killer EP from Modini. A collaborative project between techno visionary, Neil Landstrumm, and fellow Scottish producer, Hostage, Modini plunder the deeper shades of techno and electro music, bringing with them years of musical nouse for labels like Peacefrog, Tresor, Origami Sound and Nightshifters. Previous Modini releases have appeared on the Dixon Avenue Basement Jams imprint. ‘The Answer (Version)’ touches on the classic side of electro, with the infectious “how do you get to sleep at night” vocal hook rolling over incessant bleeps and chugging 4x4 beats, coming over like a pitched down Relief Records cut for the modern age. Its Original Mix makes fine use of broken beats, twisting and loosening the other version whilst retaining the energy of the original. Pre-order >> http://ift.tt/1OiPKJ3 The impressively titled ‘Impressive Pineapple’ ratchets up the tempo, rolling brats and head scrambling bleep-work tussles with a hefty bass line and choppy vocals. Final cut ‘Saluting Magpies’ features more bass line madness and drilling drums, imaginatively off the wall samples jab in between the spaces and we’re shown a masterclass in forward thinking dance music from the Modini team.

Luca Lozano - Calling All Dancers (Original Mix) (HYPE047) [clip] by Hypercolour

Klasse Recordings and Grafiti Tapes impresario, Luca Lozano, rolls up to Hypercolour with a 12” par excellence of genre blending, future dance grooves. Leaning on his Sheffield upbringing, it’s of no surprise that the break beats, edits and bleeps of his native city seeps into his own forward thinking productions. Having racked up some super releases for Sex Tags UFO, Optimo Trax, Crème Organization, alongside his own imprints, Lozano really impresses on his Hypercolour debut. ‘Gun Fingers’ is a strictly heads down affair, luscious synths, tantalising breaks and heavyweight b-line sandwich in-between pounding kicks for a classy cut, whilst ‘Calling All Dancers’ is indeed a call to rave, laced with the familiar components of a golden era of UK dance, that never slips into pastiche, instead sounding fresh, vital and relevant to the times. Kindred spirit, DJ Sotofett, weighs in with two versions of ‘Gun Fingers’ exclusively for the vinyl edition of this release. Those who know Sotofett’s killer style will know the score here, and he certainly does not disappoint. And those who spent time chasing around motorways and A roads in search of the party will most definitely know what’s up on this set of remixes!

Roman Flügel - Vegetarian Leather Jackets (HYPE048) [clip] by Hypercolour

Very few artists have influenced the sound of house and techno as much as Roman Flügel. Having been active since the early 90’s under various aliases, few have been revered so widely as a DJ, live performer, producer, remixer, intellectual and record label owner. The record labels he helped found, Ongaku, Klang and Playhouse, are pivotal imprints in the electronic music scene, and his ability to gracefully incorporate and master most styles of 4/4 has seen him create a range of genres from techno, house, electro, ambient, IDM, downtempo, and acid house. Respected both as a solo artist and collaborator, this veteran of the scene has just ticked the label’s bucket list with an incredible double vinyl for Hypercolour. 6 tracks of highly polished techno/electronica cover a range of tempos and styles on ‘Monday Brain’, a double pack vinyl to be released this October. Flügel demonstrates his ability to morph his sound with the times, and displays his breadth of sound design magnificently over the release. Cosmic IDM sensibilities are explored on EP opener ‘Teenage Engineering’, building in harmony and texture, and a fine example of Flügel’s melodic sound, whilst ‘Make It Happen’ captures more psychedelic touches over a solid groove. ‘Man Sees The Face God Sees The Heart’ goes as deep as the title suggests, rhythmic sounds melodically ride over minimal beats and luscious bass in a stirring slice of modern electronica, whilst ‘Church Of Dork’ wigs out like the very best Chicago house records, its synth motif worming around the jacked up beats. ‘Picnic For Players’ comes ready with blissful and melancholic riffs, dipped in warm reverb for a classic sounding piece, and the EP closes in fine style with the shadowy ‘Vegetarian Leather Jackets’. Even after two decades of music production and arrangement, Flügel shows no sign of dipping in the quality control department, and ‘Monday Brain’ is a testament to this producer who is clearly heading into the prime of his career, displaying an effortless knack of creating timeless dance.

SUNDAY MORNING - 11 - Rude 66 by Danny Daze

THE ARTIST: Rude 66 http://ift.tt/1P47366 THE MIX: (curated and mixed by http://ift.tt/1DiMsXn) ALL MUSIC NOW AVAILABLE AT - http://ift.tt/1P473TR "Everything was going to hell. That was the feeling i had the time these tracks were made, roughly 1995-1997. It was getting more and more difficult to have our records distributed, and people seemed only interested in polished club house junk. The legendary Acid Planet parties in The Hague ground to a halt in an implosion of mind numbing sets of 180 BPM empty acid lines fuelled by every drug you can imagine, I-f closed the Hotmix shop and went even deeper underground. I was sick and tired of acid, so a time of musical exploration started. I tried revisiting my industrial past, building on darker themes, and it was a challenge to incorporate newer styles like jungle or illbient as well. I had no idea if these tracks would ever see the light of day. These tracks were my way of staying sane through a transitional period in the history of the West Coast sound and eventually, a new path towards electro, italo and wave became clear through the musical fog. The tracks were never released or even heard, and the tapes ended up in storage, only to be uncovered this year. I hope that almost 20 years later, they still carry some relevance. I know they do for me. Ruud Lekx

SUNDAY MORNING - 11 - Lackluster by Danny Daze

THE ARTIST: LACKLUSTER http://ift.tt/1WFkQkE Born and raised in Finland, Esa started composing music back in 1994 and was confused, to say the least, at first. With a lot of help from his peers, he figured out how to make beats using trackers and eventually sequencers, and started releasing on net labels and labels like the London-based deFocus, Miami-based Merck, Monotonik, Kahvi and, later on, the trifecta of U-Cover, SLSK Records and Psychonavigation. His debut album, Container, is still an albatross around his neck - a track like Thor's Magic Bathtub will probably never vanish from the hearts of true lovers of innocent, joyful tunes. Having always been compared to the original three-member The Black Dog, Plaid and early melodic Aphex Twin, Mr. Ruoho never actually vanished from the scene, post-Container (or Post-Showcase, for that matter), instead took to Bandcamp and self-releasing. One day things will change. Let's know for a fact that it is today. THE MIX: It was a case of selecting my fave tracks from around the years, tunes I would have been playing for quite some time (think: on endless repeat) from my favorite artists. Also tracks that I would hear once and just know they are the ones I'll play and hold on to for quite some time. And some extra-new (to me) tunes. No beat matching was attempted since Danny let me off the hook I hope you can tune onto this and that it will transport you to a chilled Sunday morning. -Esa

First, thank you to everyone for all of the support since I've made these creative changes to my music. It truly means the world to me. I'm extremely excited to share this one with you. It's definitely a reflection of where I currently am as an artist, and where I'm about to go. This has been quite the journey thus far, and I think this remix truly encapsulates exactly just that.
