1st Annual Boobstock Music Festival - FOX10 News

The Rack Pack, a cancer awareness advocacy team, will be hosting 'Boobstock Music Festival' Saturday, September 27th in Grand Bay at Odd Fellows Festival Park. Gates open at 10:00am with a talented lineup of musicians, as well as activities for all ages, great food, a silent auction and more. The party will continue into the night with gates closing at 10:00pm. Admission is $5 for adults, kids 11 and under get in free. All profits from this event will be donated to the American Cancer Society for research, treatments, patient lodging, and awareness.


Representatives from The Mobile County Department of Public Health will be providing free breast exams and signing women up for free mammograms. There will be a guest speaker from the American Cancer Society, and the Pink Heals Tour will bring out their hot pink fire truck and fire chief car for survivors to sign. Activities include bungee jump, rock wall, petting zoo, game trailer, caricature artist, hamster water ball, bounce castle inflatables and obstacle course, laser tag, pedal train, workshops, portable swings, and a psychic medium.


The Rack Pack will also give away door prizes throughout the day. There will also be a silent auction featuring items from Harley Davidson, Beau Rivage, Zeke's Landing, Bellingrath Gardens, Elements Massage, Laps, Flora-Bama, AMF Bowling, Alligator Alley and more. Vendor shopping includes everything from art, to handmade candles, jewelry, woodwork, oils and gifts. Food vendors will be there selling seafood, hamburgers, hot dogs, funnel cakes, candy apples, snow cones and ice cream.


The Boobstock line-up consists of all genres of music including ten local musicians, and one from Nashville, TN. Performers include Sugarcane Jane, Christina Christian, Megan McMillan, Eric Erdman, Laci Wright, Vertigo Haze, Revere, Bobby Cool, Chico & Chris, and The Easy Tongues.


Bates and the Yellowhammers will also be there. The group consists of Matthew Bates as the lead singer and guitar player, Perry Chestang/vocalist, Thomas Herring/vocalist, Daniel Charpie/bass, and David Fenner/drums. Matthew Bates started his career in a rock band with his fellow band mates as a guitar player. Bates and Herring had the idea to change the face of country with a hip-hop sound and an alternative/southern rock accent.
