Today's Music Picks: California Roots Music Festival comes to Monterey

The fifth annual California Roots Music and Arts Festival runs Friday through Sunday at the Monterey County Fairground.

Steel Pulse, Ziggy Marley, Rebelution, SOJA and Damian 'Jr. Gong' Marley are among the headliners.

The lineup also includes 311, Pepper, J Boog, Iration, Los Rakas, Groundation, The Movement and many other acts.

It should be a great weekend for reggae music fans.

Festival runs 10 a.m.-11 p.m. each day. Single-day tickets are $65 and multiday packages start at $115, http://ift.tt/1sReT3c.

It's time for the Santa Cruz Blues Festival, the two-day affair that always ranks among the top blues music events of the year on the West Coast.

The 22nd annual festival offers another tremendous lineup. Saturday's bill features Gregg Allman, Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue, Tab Benoit, Dave and Phil Alvin with the Guilty Ones and Nikki Hill. Sunday brings Chris Isaak, Vintage Trouble, Jackie Greene, Rich Robinson and Ana Popovic.
