Macaulay Culkin's Band Booed Off Stage, Doused With Beer at British Music ...


It looks like free pizza wasn't enough to win one audience over.


Macaulay Culkin and his comedy cover band The Pizza Underground was booed off stage and pelted with beer over the weekend while performing at British music festival Dot to Dot in Nottingham, England, according to English newspaper the Nottingham Post.


The newspaper reports that, after just one song, the audience began booing and throwing pints of beer at the 'Home Alone' star's band, despite the fact that they handed out free pizza and sang a cover of Lou Reed's 'It's a Perfect Day' called 'It's a Pizza Day.'


'Why are you throwing those? I'd rather drink them,' the 33-year-old Culkin reportedly yelled as security guards tried to remove perpetrators.


The band was only on stage for 15 minutes - three songs - before storming off. It didn't take long for those on Twitter to weigh in, with some voicing distaste for the performance and others showing support.

The band also took to Twitter to address the incident.

Culkin provides vocals and plays kazoo for The Pizza Underground, which parodies classic rock songs by inserting pizza-themed lyrics into them. The name is a play off of American rock band The Velvet Underground.
