NAPA - A steady bump, bump, bump that was audible for miles Thursday across the city of Napa could only mean one thing: BottleRock is roaring back into town.
The three-day music festival, which kicks off Friday at the Napa Valley Expo, is again transforming this Wine Country city of 78,000 into a rock n' roll happening. While many Thursday expressed excitement over the event's second run, others fretted that their lives are going to again be disrupted.
For sure, it will again be plenty loud, judging by sound checks Thursday at the massive main stage that sent a sonic blast for miles in all directions.

At the downtown Napa coffee shop where she works, Jordan Smetzer, 19, said she was looking forward to seeing Friday's headliners, the iconic 80s alternative pop band The Cure. She even re-dyed her hair purple for the occasion.
'I grew up on classic rock. I'm taking my mom 'cause she's a big fan,' Smetzer said.

Angel Vargas and Kevin Carpenter arrived in Napa Thursday after driving from Seattle, where they attended the Sasquatch music festival. The pair, residents of Los Angeles, said they travel the country attending festivals and they give BottleRock high marks based on last year's debut. It's not just the musical offerings that have them salivating for this year's re-run.
'Oh dude, they have great food in there,' Vargas said. 'The Whole Foods Pavilion, the big, long tables ... the eating is great.'
