Crowds flock to downtown Raleigh for bluegrass music festival - myfox8.com

RALEIGH, N.C. - The sounds of bluegrass are taking over downtown Raleigh. Thousands of people have been flocking to Fayetteville Street to enjoy this year's Wide Open Bluegrass Street Festival, according to WTVD-TV.

'Second year for me attending, so it's becoming a habit,' said Cary resident Colleen Wood.

'This is an amazing experience,' said Roseboro resident Mike Winn.

Artists from all over the world are in Raleigh to jam out.

'People who are on the charts and people who won Grammys are here,' said Winn. 'They're just playing free on the side of the road.'

The music isn't the only thing drawing in big crowds. Saturday morning, folks were chowing down at the Whole Hog Barbecue State Championship. The tasty cook-off contest is the first in the Capital City.
