3rd annual Bunbury Music Festival kicks off

The Bunbury Music Festival is on down at Yeatman's Cove and Sawyer Point.

Organizers said just a couple of hours in and ticket sales are ahead of last year's marks.

Bunbury founder Bill Donabedian talked about how this year marked some firsts for the festival.

'This is the first year when I rolled up to the gates about 15 minutes prior and we had people lined up and around the sidewalk. That was really exciting to see to see this many people come out this soon and I think they're really getting into that festival experience,' Donabedian said.

The festival is in its third year and it is on pace to be the biggest yet. Organizers think it will hit the 60,000 mark.

Festival attendee Jenny Club came from Columbus and talked about how the festival exceeded her expectations.

'It's awesome; we didn't think it would be as big as it was. This is the first time we've been here but it's pretty awesome,' Club said.

There are 80 bands performing on six stages all weekend long. But apart from the bands, the other thing that will be center stage will the city.

'I've been a Reds fan since I was five so I've been coming down here for a long long time, and from then to now it's a dramatic change. It's a night and day difference,' attendee Thomas Long said.

Organizers said it will get crowded so get there early to see your favorite bands. There is parking down Eggleston Avenue all the way to the casino.
