SAUGERTIES, N.Y. - Thousands of music fans are heading to the Hudson Valley for a three-day music and arts festival.

The Hudson Project kicks off Friday afternoon at the Winston Farm, just off Thruway Exit 20 in the Ulster County town of Saugerties, 100 miles north of New York City.

More than 85 musical acts are scheduled to perform, including Kendrick Lamar, Modest Mouse and the Flaming Lips.

The festival's promoters say they expect up to 20,000 attendees each day, with most of them camping on the grounds.

The Winston Farm was the site of the 1994 Woodstock 25th anniversary concert that drew 350,000 people.

Festival attendees are being directed to use exits 19 or 21, since Exit 20 is intended only for local traffic during the event.
